This week marked the completion of a batch of 50 bespoke name- and numberplates, made from solid brass with antique patina finish. In a world where so many things are mass-produced, I do love working on a commission where each piece is handcrafted and unique. Having said that, it take me a long time to finish this one!
The brass plaques were cut to a custom shape before being deeply engraved with personalised lettering and numbering. Each plaque was individually made and deeply engraved to ensure long-term legibility and durability. After engraving, each piece underwent an antiquing process to age the brass and develop the patina. The patina was sealed with a thin clear lacquer coating, making the plaques suitable for both interior and exterior use.
