Fresh off the bench: I just wrapped up this circular, double-sided blade sign and sent it off to my customer. I’m really happy with how it turned out. It’s made from thick (3mm) solid brass, with a custom engraved logo on both sides so it can be seen no matter which direction you're coming from.
The sign is designed to be mounted perpendicular to a wall or post, and the customer will be adding their own attachment holes to suit their setup and mounting hardware.
The finish is an antiqued patina that gives it a warm, aged feel - lots of depth and character without looking too polished. I love how it looks like a celestial body (perhaps a planet, or even the sun?), which I think suits the logo very well, considering "Ra" was also the ancient Egyptian sun god.
Brass is one of those materials that always feels good to work with and the way it takes on a patina never gets old. I love how the lighter / darker parts of the patina catch the light differently depending on the angle.
I can't wait to see it installed once my customer has added the mounting hardware!
