Fresh from the Workshop: 19 Polished Brass Hotel Rooms Signs
Yesterday I wrapped up and shipped out a set of 19 custom brass hotel room signs for one of my clients. This project was a joy to work on from start to finish - I love the design (supplied by my client) and there’s something timeless about brass that makes the signage feel both welcoming and substantial.
Each sign was carefully cut, engraved, polished, and finished to highlight the natural warmth of the material. The border design, lettering and numbering was deeply engraved for durability, and darkened so as to create a clean contrast for legibility.
As the signs age, they will (if they're allowed to) develop a patina over time, giving each piece even more character as the years go by.

Why Brass?
Brass has long been a favourite for hospitality signage. It’s durable, it ages gracefully, and it instantly elevates the look of a space. For hotels, especially, it strikes the perfect balance between functional signage and interior design detail.
Off to Their New Home
These 19 signs are now on their way to their new home, ready to be installed and guide guests to their rooms. I can’t wait to see them in place - it’s always satisfying to know that something handcrafted in my workshop here will soon be part of someone’s daily experience elsewhere.
