From Craft to Code: Bespoke Metal QR Code Plaques for Businesses

In recent months, I have made several custom solid brass QR code plaques - a unique way to blend traditional metal engraving with modern digital function. These pieces have quickly become favourites among my clients, from small businesses to designers and hospitality venues.

Each plaque starts as a piece of solid brass (or another metal such as copper or bronze), which is shaped and then deeply engraved with a custom QR code and any accompanying text my clients want - often a business name, logo, or short message. The engraving is darkened to make sure the QR code is clear and easy to scan, even in different lighting conditions.

I can give the plaque surface a natural polished finish for a contemporary look, or an antiqued finish that adds warmth and character, while maintaining legibility.

These engraved metal QR plaques are perfect for:

  • Restaurants and cafés offering QR code menus or Wi-Fi access
  • Hotels and B&Bs wanting elegant digital check-in or information signs
  • Artists and galleries linking to online portfolios
  • Craftspeople and makers adding a professional touch to their displays

Each plaque combines beauty and function - a way to connect the digital and physical worlds in a material that will last for decades. Technology doesn’t have to be cold or disposable - it can be crafted, personal and durable. Unlike stickers or plastic signs, a brass, bronze or copper QR code plaque is made to last, and offers a modern touch (like a QR menu or portfolio link) without sacrificing aesthetic or quality.

If you’d like a custom QR code plaque for your space or business, I’d love to make one for you. Just get in touch to discuss size, finish, and design options and we can turn your link into something beautiful and lasting.
